Breast Cancer Cure is the only not-for-profit charitable trust in New Zealand, established exclusively to support research aimed at finding a cure for breast cancer. The statistics are tough; breast cancer does not discriminate. It impacts individuals across all ethnicities, both males and females, spanning any age range. Shockingly, one in nine Kiwi women will face breast cancer in their lifetime. Tragically, we lose two women every day, with one woman diagnosed every three hours. Despite these harsh realities, we firmly believe that breast cancer can and should be survivable.
The positive news is that our support is at the HEART of progress being made to date. We have been at the forefront of funding impactful and innovative breast cancer research in New Zealand for over 26 years. Throughout the past two decades, our dedicated breast cancer researchers have initiated world-class projects aimed at improving outcomes for those battling this disease.
Our support, thanks to Volvo Car New Zealand, is most apparent through Breast Cancer Cure's Fashion for a Cure events. Held throughout New Zealand, Fashion for a Cure is one of the many ways that the organisation funds research into finding a cure for breast cancer. The Christchurch-based event in 2023, which we were proud to be a part of, raised over $82,000 to fund research into a breast cancer cure.
